                   Virginia Mariconda, M.S., CCC-SLP

                            Speech-Language Pathologist & Sole Proprietor

                                                        For many years prior to earning her Master's degree cum laude in Communication Disorders &                                                                 Sciences, Virginia owned and operated a private tutoring business for both children with                                                                           Special Needs and neurotypical children.  She also holds an undergraduate degree in

                                                               Psychology and English.  This work then inspired her to pursue a second career in speech-                                                                       language pathology.  Her work has also always included behavioral intervention (NOT ABA                                                                       therapy) in private homes and serving as a behavior consultant in preschools.  These careers                                                                 combined have given her 31 years of experience working professionally with children.  ​ 

                                                               

                                                               Virginia holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCCfrom the American Speech-                                                                             Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). She has provided assessment and treatment in                                                                     school districts, private practices, and multidisciplinary clinics (speech-language therapy,                                                                           occupational therapy and physical therapy).  In school districts, she participated                                                                                         in students' annual Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contributed goals                                                                       to treatment plans.                                                                         

                                                           

 Virginia observes the whole child and routinely collaborates with other professionals such as pediatricians, creative arts   therapists (i.e. dance-movement therapists, art therapists, and music therapists)nutritionists, occupational therapists,   craniosacral body workers, psychotherapists, physical therapists, optometrists who provide Vision Therapy for reading   disorders, and neuropsychologists.                                                                        

 

She conducts assessments and provides language and speech therapy for children at the infant, preschool and elementary levels through age 10.  She serves children with a variety of communication needs including yet not limited to language delay, speech delay, language disorder, phonological disorder, literacy, autism spectrum disorder, and selective mutism.

 For many years, Virginia has also had the privilege of creating and presenting Continuing Education Workshops for parents   and preschool educators on various aspects of Child Development in Los Angeles-area preschool districts, as well as at

 conferences, on private preschool campuses for educators, and for parent groups (including in private homes).  Please contact us if this is of interest.
